Just My Luck

$460.00

“Just My Luck” is my first piece of original wood art! This horseshoe with flowers is made of mdf that has been scrolled, shaped and painted to the final image you see today! The frame is made of walnut and the backer is made of white limba. This piece was inspired by my first horse, Reggie, who passed away on Easter of 2024. This piece was carefully crafted to capture my emotions surrounding my horse’s death. I hope you will be able to find meaning in it as well, but for now I will tell you what this piece means to me:***

*White Rose -

symbolizes innocent love and beauty. In November of 2022, I felt like my horse chose me. He made my heart feel warm. I had never felt that way before. After my mom told me my dad had passed away I felt my heart drop to my stomach, this was the opposite of that feeling and my gut told me he’s the one. I bought him March 2023.

*Blue Anemone -

symbolizes forsaken love and has the power of healing and protection against illness. This flower is often purple but I chose to make it blue. I thought of my horse as my little blueberry. His blueberry colored blanket made it easy for me to spot him in the field.

*Upside down horseshoe -

symbolizes bad luck. It is also known to symbolize the pouring of luck onto others. My horse’s aorta had ruptured (age 7) and when the vet was explaining to me what could have lead to that, based on his necropsy results, he told me “you drew the short straw”.

*Walnut frame -

represents Reggie’s coat color. He was a bay.

*Chevron pattern -

the pattern resembles arrows and represents an unknown change in direction. I felt very lost after I lost my horse. I felt like I had been robbed of the dream I had worked so hard to achieve.

Important:

Measures approximately 14.75” w x 13” h

* Back is equipped with hardware used to attach art piece to wall.

* The back of Just My Luck has my signature and year of creation.

* Clean gently with dry cloth or feather duster. No liquids.

* Indoor use only. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity.

***No returns. If art piece arrives damaged, please contact me.
